Little Green 1400B vs HydroSteam 3618: Which Cleaning Setup Fits?

The choice is feature fit versus carrying weight: the 3618 lists three modes, including Steam and SteamWash, a multi-surface tool, and a 64-ounce clean tank; the 1400B has a documented spray, scrub and suction workflow, a 48-ounce clean tank, and a lower listed machine weight. These specifications do not establish which cleaner removes stains better.

The buying question

Is the Little Green 1400B's spray, scrub and suction workflow enough, or are the HydroSteam 3618's listed modes and larger clean-water tank useful for the jobs you expect to do?

The 3618 lists SteamWash, Steam and Wash modes and a 64-ounce clean tank; its listed unit weight is 13 pounds. The 1400B is described around spray, scrub and suction, has a 48-ounce clean tank and a lower listed weight of 9.65 pounds.

Quick verdict

When the recommendation changes
  • If tile or grout cleaning with a documented steam mode is central, the 3618's listed feature set becomes more relevant; if your jobs are mainly carpet, upholstery or car spots and easier carrying matters, the 1400B's lower listed weight may matter more.

The differences that matter

Cleaning Modes Tools And Surfaces

BISSELL Little Green HydroSteam Pet Portable Carpet Cleaner 3618

Model 3618: BISSELL lists SteamWash, Steam and Wash modes; a 5-inch Tough Stain Tool and Multi-Surface Tool; and tile/grout use for Steam mode.[1]

BISSELL Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaner 1400B

Model 1400B: BISSELL describes spraying, scrubbing and suction; its surface list includes carpet, stairs and auto, and it lists a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool.[2]

What this changes: This is a feature-fit choice, not a cleaning-results ranking. Check the retailer's exact box contents before relying on a tool list.[1, 2]

The better fit depends on your priorities

Best for your routine

A buyer specifically wants a listed Steam mode for tile or grout spot work

Best fit: BISSELL Little Green HydroSteam Pet Portable Carpet Cleaner 3618

Based on listed features, not comparative testing.

BISSELL lists a Steam mode and tile/grout use for the 3618; this is a feature-match recommendation and does not claim better cleaning results.

Value and trade-offs

The offers shown are per listed package; check the quantities and current terms on Amazon before comparing totals.

Compare current offers when shopping. If the 3618 is priced higher, its additional listed modes and larger clean-water tank are the features to weigh against the 1400B's lower listed product weight; whether that trade-off is worthwhile depends on your jobs and today's prices.

There is not enough price history for a definite Buy Now or Wait recommendation.

Is the upgrade worth it?

Worth considering if

  • Buyers who will use a documented 3618 mode or the stated tile-and-grout feature fit often enough to value it over the 1400B's lower listed weight.

Skip the upgrade if

  • Your expected jobs fit the 1400B's documented spot-cleaning routine and you would rather carry the lower-listed-weight unit than prioritize the 3618's documented 3618 modes or larger nominal clean tank.

Limitations

  • No hands-on or controlled side-by-side cleaning test was performed; the specifications do not establish a stain-removal, drying-time or reliability winner.
  • Clean-water capacity is a nominal tank volume, not a measure of area cleaned or refills needed. Listed product weight is not the weight with water and accessories installed.
  • BISSELL's product pages describe model-level tools and modes. Confirm the exact retailer package before buying because marketplace box contents may differ from the manufacturer's page list.
  • Current price observations do not establish a longer-term price trend.
  • The 1400B page's silence about Steam/SteamWash is not treated as proof that an equivalent feature is absent; only the 3618's listed modes support that feature-fit path.

Questions shoppers ask

Does the 3618's larger clean tank mean fewer refills?

It has a larger listed clean-water tank, but volume alone does not tell you how much area a cleaning session covers or how often you will refill it. Cleaning technique, soil and the job all matter.

Are the listed tools guaranteed in every retailer's package?

The BISSELL pages list tools by model, but check the selected seller's exact box contents before ordering rather than assuming the retail package matches the product-page list.
