Canon PIXMA TS3720 vs TS6520: Choose by Two-Sided Printing and Borderless Size
The TS6520 is the feature-fit choice for frequent two-sided documents and borderless printing up to Letter. Canon lists the TS3720 for single-sided printing and borderless output up to 5 x 7; its Windows driver also describes a manual duplex process that requires reloading the sheets. Choose by how often those extra print workflows matter, not by an unverified print-quality winner.

The buying question
Do you need the TS6520’s automatic two-sided printing or borderless output up to Letter, or can the TS3720’s manual Windows duplex procedure and borderless output up to 5 x 7 meet your routine?
The TS6520 automates two-sided printing and supports borderless output through Letter. Canon lists the TS3720 for simplex capability, while its Windows driver documents manual duplex by reloading the sheets between sides; the TS3720 supports borderless output up to 5 x 7.
Quick verdict
Choose Canon PIXMA TS3720 Wireless All-in-One Printer (White, 6671C022) if
- Your routine is mostly one-sided documents and borderless prints up to 5 x 7, and the current TS3720 offer better matches your budget.
- You are comfortable reloading pages yourself for occasional two-sided jobs using the documented Windows driver procedure.
Choose Canon PIXMA TS6520 Wireless Multi-Function Home Printer (White, 7179C002) if
- You often print double-sided documents and want the printer to handle automatic duplexing.
- You need borderless photo or document output larger than 5 x 7, up to Letter size.
When the recommendation changes
- If two-sided printing is occasional and you are comfortable reloading paper, compare current offers against how often you would use automatic duplex. If you need borderless Letter output, Canon lists that size for the TS6520 while the TS3720 is specified up to 5 x 7.
The differences that matter
Duplex Print Workflow
What this changes: For frequent two-sided documents, the TS6520 avoids the sheet-reload step. The TS3720 remains a possible fit when most jobs are one-sided or the user is willing to reload sheets for occasional duplex jobs; the manual instructions cited here are for Canon's Windows driver.[1, 3, 6]
Borderless Media Sizes
What this changes: If you need a borderless layout larger than 5 x 7, Canon's published size range favors the TS6520, up to Letter. For 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 jobs, both models are listed for borderless printing; match the paper type to Canon's supported media guidance and allow for edge cropping.[1, 4, 6]

Limitations
- Canon's manual duplex steps cited for the TS3720 are for its Windows printer driver; check your operating system's print dialog for the available workflow.
- Canon's TS3700-series manual limits borderless printing to specified media and notes possible edge cropping. Borderless availability does not establish print quality or color accuracy.
- No controlled head-to-head test was used, so this comparison does not rank print quality, speed, reliability, or ink cost.
