Etekcity ESN00 vs COSORI NutriLens: Which Kitchen Scale Setup Fits You?
Pick the ESN00 for replaceable AAA cells, or the COSORI if USB charging and its documented imported-food selection routine suit your kitchen. Both smart nutrition workflows use VeSync, and the available evidence does not compare nutrient-data accuracy or battery life.

The buying question
Should the documented battery setup or the way each scale handles nutrition lookup and display guide the choice?
The ESN00 uses replaceable AAA cells, while the COSORI uses USB-C charging; their manuals also document different levels of detail for selecting nutrition data at the scale.
Quick verdict
Choose Etekcity ESN00 Smart Nutrition Scale if
- You prefer three replaceable AAA batteries, which the US ESN00 manual lists as pre-installed.
- You are comfortable connecting the ESN00 to VeSync when you want nutrition information beyond weight or volume or want to record food.
Choose COSORI NutriLens Smart Nutrition Scale (CNS-R001S-X) if
- You prefer recharging the COSORI by USB-C and can plan around its manual's warning that it cannot be used while charging.
- You want to import up to 50 frequently eaten foods through VeSync and cycle through and select those foods on the scale; verify the ESN00's equivalent workflow if that detail decides the purchase.
When the recommendation changes
- If a saved-food shortcut is essential, verify whether the ESN00 offers a comparable workflow; its manual does not establish that it is absent.
- If you do not want to use VeSync for smart nutrition functions, neither documented smart workflow is a fit.
The differences that matter
Power And Charging Workflow
Etekcity ESN00 Smart Nutrition Scale
The US ESN00 manual lists three pre-installed 1.5 V AAA batteries.[2]
COSORI NutriLens Smart Nutrition Scale (CNS-R001S-X)
The COSORI manual lists an 800mAh Li-ion battery and a USB-C charging cable; it says the scale cannot be used while charging.[4]
What this changes: The choice is between replaceable cells and a rechargeable scale that needs a charging pause. The manuals do not establish comparative runtime, battery lifespan, or reliability.[2, 4]
Nutrition Lookup And Display Workflow
Etekcity ESN00 Smart Nutrition Scale
The ESN00 manual says to connect to VeSync to see nutrition information beyond weight or volume or to record food in the app.[2]
COSORI NutriLens Smart Nutrition Scale (CNS-R001S-X)
The COSORI manual documents importing up to 50 frequently eaten foods to the scale through VeSync, cycling through and selecting a food on the scale, then weighing it so applicable nutrition data can appear on the display.[4]
What this changes: COSORI has a documented on-scale quick-selection route for imported foods. The ESN00 manual does not establish whether an equivalent saved-food shortcut is absent, so check that detail if it is decisive.[2, 4]
Best for your routine
A buyer who prefers replaceable batteries over charging the scale.
Best fit: Etekcity ESN00 Smart Nutrition Scale
Based on listed features, not comparative testing.
The US ESN00 manual lists three pre-installed AAA cells; choose it if replacing cells fits your routine. No battery-life or reliability comparison was performed.
A buyer who wants to select frequently eaten foods from the scale after importing them.
Best fit: COSORI NutriLens Smart Nutrition Scale (CNS-R001S-X)
Based on listed features, not comparative testing.
The COSORI manual documents this VeSync-based quick-selection path. The ESN00 manual does not settle whether it has an equivalent, so verify that before treating it as a pairwise advantage.
Value and trade-offs

Limitations
- This is a feature and setup comparison based on manufacturer pages and manuals, not hands-on testing.
- No matched test compared weighing performance, nutrition-data accuracy, app behavior, battery life, durability, or health outcomes.
- The COSORI manual also names CNS-R002S-S; this comparison uses only the procedures and specifications it documents for the Smart Nutrition Scale models that include CNS-R001S-X.
- The ESN00 manual requires VeSync for nutrition information beyond weight or volume; app features can change.
Questions shoppers ask
Does the COSORI come with 50 preset foods already loaded?
The manual describes importing up to 50 frequently eaten foods through VeSync, then cycling through and selecting those imported foods on the scale. It does not describe 50 factory-loaded food records.
Can the COSORI scale be used while charging?
No. Its manual says the scale cannot be used while charging, so charge it when you can pause weighing.
Do I need VeSync for nutrition information?
Both manuals tie the additional nutrition workflow to VeSync. The ESN00 manual specifically says VeSync is required for nutrition information beyond weight or volume or for recording food; COSORI describes importing and selecting foods through the app.
Methodology and sources
Compared the US Etekcity ESN00 page and ESN00 Series manual with the COSORI NutriLens page and the COSORI Smart Nutrition Scale manual, which lists CNS-R001S-X among covered models. The comparison is limited to power setup and nutrition lookup/display workflow.
AI assistance organized the published model-specific feature and setup information; it did not test either scale or verify nutrition-data accuracy.
