Logitech PRO X vs HyperX Cloud Alpha: Choose by PC Audio Tools and Included Ear Pads
The PRO X includes an external USB sound card; Logitech says Blue VO!CE and DTS Headphone:X 2.0 features work on PC through G HUB. HyperX documents a 3.5 mm connection and inline controls for the Cloud Alpha, but its product page does not specify an equivalent PC software path. Logitech also lists leatherette and cloth ear-pad sets in the PRO X box; HyperX specifies foam/leatherette cushions and does not list an alternate set in its box contents. These are feature and package differences, not sound-quality or comfort findings.

The buying question
Do the PRO X’s documented PC sound-card features or its two included ear-pad materials matter to your setup, or do the Cloud Alpha’s documented 3.5 mm connection and listed cushion configuration fit what you need?
Logitech documents an included USB sound card and G HUB features for PC, plus leatherette and cloth ear-pad sets in the box. HyperX documents a 3.5 mm wired setup, inline controls, and memory-foam/leatherette cushions; its listed box contents do not specify a second pad set. Neither source establishes an audio-quality or comfort winner.
Quick verdict
Choose Logitech G PRO X Wired Gaming Headset (Black, 981-000817) if
- You want the documented PC-only G HUB features through the included USB sound card.
- You want both leatherette and cloth ear-pad sets included.
Choose HyperX Cloud Alpha Wired Gaming Headset (Black-Red, 4P5L1AA#ABL) if
- The Cloud Alpha’s documented 3.5 mm connection and inline controls fit your setup, and you have checked which software features you need.
- Its specified memory-foam/leatherette cushions suit the configuration you want; no comfort ranking is made.
When the recommendation changes
- Your platform and interest in Logitech G HUB features change the value of the PRO X sound-card route.
- Whether you want a second included ear-pad material set changes the value of the PRO X package; no comfort result is inferred.
The differences that matter
Audio Setup And Customization Workflow
Logitech G PRO X Wired Gaming Headset (Black, 981-000817)
The PRO X package includes an external USB sound card. Logitech states that Blue VO!CE and DTS Headphone:X 2.0 features function only on PC through Logitech G HUB.[1]
HyperX Cloud Alpha Wired Gaming Headset (Black-Red, 4P5L1AA#ABL)
HyperX documents the wired Cloud Alpha’s 3.5 mm connection and inline audio controls. Its exact Black-Red product page does not specify an equivalent PC software or USB sound-card feature set; that status remains unverified here.[2]
What this changes: Choose the PRO X when its named G HUB voice and surround features on PC are what you want. Choose the Cloud Alpha when the documented 3.5 mm route and inline controls meet your needs; do not read the source gap as proof that HyperX has no software features. Confirm the connection and software requirements for your device.[1, 2]
Included Wear Options
Logitech G PRO X Wired Gaming Headset (Black, 981-000817)
Logitech lists memory-foam leatherette ear pads and an extra memory-foam cloth set among the PRO X box contents.[1]
HyperX Cloud Alpha Wired Gaming Headset (Black-Red, 4P5L1AA#ABL)
HyperX specifies Cloud Alpha ear cushions as memory foam and premium leatherette. Its listed box contents do not specify a second cushion set; separate replacement options are not assessed.[2]
What this changes: If you want a second included ear-pad material to swap in, the PRO X documentation names leatherette and cloth sets. The Cloud Alpha documentation describes its leatherette cushion setup. This is a materials/package choice only; it does not establish comfort, breathability or fit superiority.[1, 2]

Value and trade-offs
One or both observed offers have eligibility conditions, so no unrestricted price difference is shown.
Compare current offers after deciding whether PC G HUB features or the included pad-material choice matter to you; no price premium is justified by a measured performance difference here.
Prices change; the available price history does not support advice about when to purchase.
Limitations
- No listening, microphone, comfort, fit, durability or compatibility tests were performed. This comparison describes documented setup and package features, not measured performance.
- Logitech scopes Blue VO!CE and DTS Headphone:X 2.0 to PC through G HUB. Check the software and connection requirements for your own device before purchase.
- The HyperX product page documents a 3.5 mm route and its cushion material but does not establish an equivalent PC software feature set. No absence is inferred.
- HyperX lists no alternate cushion set in the cited box contents. This does not address separately sold replacement cushions or their fit.
- Observed price history is limited and prices can change; no longer-term low or purchase-timing conclusion is made.
Questions shoppers ask
Does the PRO X’s G HUB audio processing work on consoles?
Logitech says Blue VO!CE and DTS Headphone:X 2.0 features work only on PC through G HUB. The page also lists console compatibility, but that does not extend those software features to consoles. Check the connection route for your specific device.
Does the Cloud Alpha include PC software like the PRO X?
The cited HyperX product page documents 3.5 mm audio and inline controls but does not specify a comparable software feature set. That is an unknown in this comparison, not proof that no software exists.
Which headset includes another ear-pad material?
Logitech lists memory-foam leatherette pads and an extra memory-foam cloth set in the PRO X box. HyperX specifies memory-foam/leatherette cushions for Cloud Alpha and does not list an extra set in its box contents. Neither detail tells us which feels more comfortable.
Methodology and sources
For the PRO X, Logitech documents the included USB sound card, PC-only G HUB audio features and two included ear-pad materials. HyperX documents the Cloud Alpha’s 3.5 mm route, inline controls, cushion material and listed box contents. We do not infer missing HyperX software features or any comfort/audio winner.
We compared the manufacturers’ published connection, software and package details. Pickoryx did not conduct hands-on audio or comfort testing.
