PUR PPT700WAMA vs Brita Everyday Elite OB46/OB06: Compare Capacity and Filter Changes
The documented choice is capacity and filter-change planning: PUR is the 7-cup option with a 40-gallon/up-to-two-month filter schedule, while Brita Everyday Elite is the listed 10-cup option with an OB06 filter rated for 120 gallons/about six months for an average family. These are manufacturer-stated figures, not a comparison of water quality or filtration performance.

The buying question
Should you choose the PUR 7-cup pitcher or Brita's 10-cup Everyday Elite pitcher based on pitcher capacity and the manufacturers' stated filter replacement intervals?
PUR has the lower stated pitcher capacity and its included filter is rated for 40 gallons or up to two months; Brita's Everyday Elite is listed as 10 cups and its OB06 filter is rated for 120 gallons or about six months for an average family.
Quick verdict
Choose PUR 7-Cup Pitcher (PPT700WAMA) if
- The PUR listing's 7-cup capacity fits the amount you want to keep in the pitcher.
- You are comfortable following PUR's stated 40-gallon or up-to-two-month filter interval.
Choose Brita Everyday Elite 10-Cup Pitcher (OB46/OB06) if
- The Brita Everyday listing's 10-cup capacity better matches the amount you want the pitcher to hold.
- The OB06 filter's stated 120-gallon or approximately six-month interval better matches your replacement-planning preference.
When the recommendation changes
- If your preferred capacity differs from both listed sizes, compare a different pitcher size.
- If filter replacement cost or contaminant reduction is decisive, compare current replacement-filter prices or the applicable performance documents separately; this page does not establish either advantage.
The differences that matter
Pitcher Capacity
What this changes: Use the stated capacity labels to choose the pitcher size you want. They do not establish how many people it serves or whether a particular fridge shelf will fit it.[1, 5, 3]
Filter Replacement Cadence
What this changes: The makers give different replacement intervals and capacities, so buyers can compare the maintenance schedule stated for each filter. This does not establish relative filtration effectiveness, replacement cost, or actual life under a particular household's use and water conditions.[1, 2, 3, 4]
Best for your routine
A buyer whose desired pitcher size is closest to 7 cups and who is comfortable following a 40-gallon/up-to-two-month filter interval.
Best fit: PUR 7-Cup Pitcher (PPT700WAMA)
Based on listed features, not comparative testing.
PUR's manufacturer page identifies the PPT700 as a 7-cup pitcher and states the included filter's replacement guidance. No measured filtration advantage is implied.
A buyer who prefers the listed 10-cup pitcher size and the OB06 manufacturer's 120-gallon/about-six-month replacement guidance.
Best fit: Brita Everyday Elite 10-Cup Pitcher (OB46/OB06)
Based on listed features, not comparative testing.
Brita identifies the Everyday system as OB46/OB06 and publishes the OB06 replacement interval. The choice is about stated capacity and planning cadence, not water quality.
Value and trade-offs
One or both observed offers have eligibility conditions, so no unrestricted price difference is shown.
No price premium is assessed here. Filter life alone does not establish replacement cost or total ownership cost.
No purchase-timing recommendation is offered because adequate price-history evidence is unavailable; check current offers before deciding.
Limitations
- Confirm the exact pitcher model and included filter on the offer you choose; different filter bundles can have different replacement guidance.
- The independent PUR-versus-Brita article compares PUR Plus and Brita Tahoe Elite, not these exact retail variants. No independent tests or test results are applied to this comparison.
- The filter intervals are manufacturer guidance. Actual replacement timing can vary with use; the interval comparison is not a water-quality, safety, contaminant, taste, or filtration-performance comparison.
- Current replacement-filter prices and a reliable total-cost comparison were not established.
