SwitchBot Meter Plus vs Meter Pro: Choose the Display and Setup You Need

Choose Meter Plus for magnetic placement and a room temperature/humidity readout. Choose Meter Pro for time/date and a hub-enabled forecast on its display, with tabletop or wall placement. Budget separately for the hub and any sensor for another location.

The buying question

Will you use a magnetic room meter or a clock-and-forecast display, and what extra hardware does that choice require?

Plus offers built-in magnetic placement; Pro adds a time/date display and a forecast that needs a separate hub.

Quick verdict

When to skip: You need CO2 measurement; neither selected model provides it.
When the recommendation changes
  • You already own a Plus or Outdoor Meter that could feed the Pro display.
  • Buying the extra hub or sensor makes the complete setup more than you want to spend.

The differences that matter

Display Role And Setup

SwitchBot Meter Plus (white, single unit)

Temperature, humidity and comfort icons; no weather forecast.[1, 3]

SwitchBot Meter Pro (white, single unit, non-CO2)

Temperature/humidity, time/date and weather forecast with a separately purchased SwitchBot hub.[2, 3, 4]

What this changes: Choose Pro for a clock-and-forecast display if you will supply the hub and configure your Home location. Plus suits a room-reading role without a forecast.[1, 3, 2, 4]

The better fit depends on your priorities

Mounting Options

SwitchBot Meter Plus (white, single unit)

Built-in magnet, stand and hanging/wall options.[1, 3]

SwitchBot Meter Pro (white, single unit, non-CO2)

Manufacturer lists an adjustable stand and wall mounting.[2, 3]

What this changes: For attachment to a suitable magnetic surface, Plus supplies the built-in magnet. For Pro, plan around its documented tabletop or wall placement; a desk or wall location can accommodate either.[1, 3, 2]

The better fit depends on your priorities

Best for your routine

Attach a room meter to a suitable magnetic surface

Best fit: SwitchBot Meter Plus (white, single unit)

Based on listed features, not comparative testing.

Plus includes a magnet. Its compromise is no weather forecast on the display.

Use a desk display for time, date and forecast

Best fit: SwitchBot Meter Pro (white, single unit, non-CO2)

Based on listed features, not comparative testing.

Pro fits this role if you add the required hub and configure the Home location. The single meter is not a complete forecast setup.

Value and trade-offs

One or both observed offers have eligibility conditions, so no unrestricted price difference is shown.

Compare the complete setup, including any hub or additional sensor you still need. Pay extra for display functions only if you will use them.

Insufficient verified price history for a buy-now or wait recommendation.

Limitations

  • This comparison covers white single-meter packages, not hub/sensor bundles or Meter Pro (CO2 Monitor).
  • Meter Plus audible-alarm support remains unverified. Pro’s documented sound setting is not treated as an exclusive advantage.
  • No hands-on evidence establishes an accuracy, readability, range, battery-life or reliability winner. These recommendations concern documented functions and setup.

Questions shoppers ask

Can I keep a Meter Plus and add a Pro display?

Yes. Set alert conditions on Plus if needed, then in Pro’s Panel Display settings choose Temp and Humidity Source, select Main or Secondary, and choose Plus. To reflect those alerts on Pro, enable its Alert Sound & Light setting. The Plus remains a separate device.

Is an outdoor reading the same thing as the forecast?

No. To show your Outdoor Meter’s readings, buy that sensor separately, add both devices to the app and keep them within Bluetooth range. SwitchBot specifies separate hubs beside each device when they are far apart. Forecast instead requires a hub, a configured Home location and Pro near the hub.

Can either meter notify my phone while I am away?

Plan for a separately purchased SwitchBot hub for remote phone notifications. Pro’s local sound-and-flashing-screen setting is a different alert route; turn it on in Alert Conditions. Do not assume a standalone meter purchase provides remote notifications or direct HVAC control.
