Coway AP-1512HH vs Levoit Core 400S-P: Compare Placement and Controls

The listed 4.8-ACH room areas are close: Coway gives 361 sq ft and Levoit gives 358 sq ft. For placement, Coway publishes labeled W × H × D dimensions; Levoit lists 10.8 × 10.8 × 20.5 in without labeling the axes, and its manual calls for 15 in clearance on all sides. Check the actual orientation and space rather than assuming a floor footprint from the unlabeled order. For controls, Coway publishes Auto/Eco and a 1/4/8-hour timer, while Levoit documents VeSync remote settings, air-quality updates, filter-life checks, and schedules/timers. These are feature-fit distinctions, not measured purification results.

The buying question

Which purifier better fits the intended placement and the controls a household wants to use day to day?

At the manufacturers’ stated 4.8 air changes per hour, the listed room areas are close. For placement, Coway publishes labeled W × H × D dimensions and both manuals give clearance instructions; Levoit’s listed dimension order is not labeled, so check its actual orientation and the intended space. A separate choice is whether Levoit’s documented app scheduling matters or Coway’s documented Auto/Eco and timer routine is enough.

Quick verdict

Choose Coway Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH(W) (white) if

  • Coway’s labeled 16.8 × 18.3 × 9.6-in (W × H × D) dimensions fit your measured location, and its 20 cm side clearance plus overhead spacing can be met.
  • You want Coway’s documented Auto/Eco controls and 1-, 4-, or 8-hour shutoff timer.

Choose Levoit Core 400S-P Smart Air Purifier (Cream White) if

  • The Levoit’s documented VeSync controls, live air-quality updates, filter-life view, and schedule/timer functions suit your routine; verify its actual orientation and fit because the listed dimension axes are unlabeled.
  • You value the Levoit page’s documented VeSync controls, live air-quality updates, filter-life view, and schedule/timer functions.

When to skip: You need a guaranteed filtration or health outcome, or a measured winner between these models; the cited manufacturer materials do not provide a matched independent test.
When the recommendation changes
  • Measure the intended location, compare Coway’s labeled W × H × D dimensions, and follow each manual’s placement clearances. Levoit’s listed 10.8 × 10.8 × 20.5-in order is not axis-labeled, so do not treat the first two values as a confirmed floor footprint.
  • If remote app control or scheduled operation is essential, verify that the exact model and your home network support the features you plan to use. These sources do not establish whether Coway offers app support.
  • Do not use the small difference in manufacturer-stated 4.8-ACH room areas as a performance ranking; this comparison has no matched independent performance test.

The differences that matter

Room Fit And Placement

Coway Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH(W) (white)

Coway lists 361 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour. Its listed dimensions are 16.8 × 18.3 × 9.6 in (W × H × D). Its manual calls for 20 cm from walls/adjacent objects, 30–60 cm overhead, and 2 m from electronics such as a TV.[1, 2]

Levoit Core 400S-P Smart Air Purifier (Cream White)

Levoit lists 358 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour and dimensions of 10.8 × 10.8 × 20.5 in; the U.S. product page does not label the axes. Its manual calls for at least 15 in (38 cm) clearance on all sides.[3, 4]

What this changes: At the same stated 4.8-ACH rate, the published area figures are close and do not establish a performance winner. For placement, compare Coway’s labeled W × H × D dimensions and each manual’s clearance instructions with the intended spot. Levoit’s listed dimension axes are not identified, so verify the actual orientation and footprint instead of inferring a square floor footprint from the first two values.[1, 2, 3, 4]

The better fit depends on your priorities

App And Automatic Control Workflow

Coway Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH(W) (white)

Coway lists five airflow stages—Auto, 1, 2, 3, and Eco—and a 1-, 4-, or 8-hour timer. Coway describes Eco as stopping the fan after the room remains purified for 30 minutes and restarting when pollution is detected.[1, 2]

Levoit Core 400S-P Smart Air Purifier (Cream White)

Levoit documents VeSync app settings, real-time air-quality updates, filter-life checks, and schedules/timers. Its product page also describes Auto Mode adjusting fan speed when selected.[3, 4]

What this changes: Choose around how you want to interact with the purifier: Coway’s published list gives a direct Auto/Eco and preset shutoff-timer routine; Levoit explicitly describes remote app settings, status checks, and scheduling. The cited materials do not establish that Coway lacks app support, and they do not show that either workflow cleans air better.[1, 2, 3, 4]

Limitations

  • The room-area figures are each manufacturers’ own calculations at a stated rate of 4.8 air changes per hour; they are not a matched independent performance test or a guarantee for every room layout.
  • Measure the intended location against Coway’s labeled W × H × D dimensions and both manuals’ clearances. Levoit lists 10.8 × 10.8 × 20.5 in without axis labels, so this comparison does not infer its floor footprint or claim a placement-size winner.
  • Levoit documents app functions on its product page. The cited Coway materials describe its controls but do not establish whether Coway app support is available; verify that separately if app control is essential.
  • No hands-on testing or matched measurements of filtration, noise, energy use, or long-term reliability were performed. No health outcome is claimed.

Questions shoppers ask

Are their room-size figures directly comparable?

Both product pages list an area at 4.8 air changes per hour: 361 sq ft for Coway and 358 sq ft for Levoit. They are manufacturer-stated figures, not an independent head-to-head result; use the same ACH basis when comparing room guidance.

How much space should I leave around each purifier?

Coway’s manual specifies 20 cm from walls or adjacent objects, 30–60 cm above, and 2 m from electronics such as a TV. Levoit’s manual specifies 15 in (38 cm) clearance on all sides. Coway’s product page labels its W × H × D dimensions; Levoit’s product page gives 10.8 × 10.8 × 20.5 in without labeling the axes. Measure the location and verify the Levoit’s actual orientation before choosing.

Does Coway have app control?

The cited Coway product page and manual describe Auto/Eco and timer controls but do not establish app availability. Levoit explicitly documents VeSync app controls and schedules. Verify Coway app support if that is a deciding requirement; the cited materials do not prove the feature is absent.

Methodology and sources

Compared the two U.S. models using their manufacturer product pages and linked U.S. manuals. The room-area figures are compared only at the same stated 4.8-ACH rate. Placement clearances and documented control routines are treated as feature-fit guidance, not test results.

AI assistance organized the research and drafted the comparison; no hands-on testing was performed.
